Learn how to sew a Christmas tree skirt in an evening
During the season, your Christmas tree is the center of attention in your home. Decorate the base with a tree skirt you make using Nancy's streamlined techniques. Watch Nancy demo each step in the video.
Christmas Tree Skirt
Approximately 40" in diameter
Nancy has streamlined the sewing without compromising the design.
Create and cut a circle pattern with the Yard Stick Compass (YC2) and Pattern Tracing Paper (PP3).
Create piping with 3/8" Wrap n Fuse Piping (CL9517) and bias strips of fabric.
Sandwich and stitch the trim to the top layer and fleece.
Position the lining fabric to the top layer and fleece sandwich; stitch in place.
Turn right side out.
Create bias tape for inner circle with Bias Tape Makers (BTMPK) and stitch to inner circle.
Supplies to make tree skirt:
∗ 2-1/2 yds. of 45" fabric (or 1-1/4 yd. 108" fabric)
∗ 1/2 yd. coordinating fabric to cover piping
∗ 1-1/3 yd. fusible fleece (PFFY45)
∗ 1 pkg. (6 yd.) 3/8" Wrap n Fuse Piping (CL9517)
