A mid-size sofa will require about 14 yards of 60" wide fabric, or three queen-size sheets. And, if you're covering the cushions separately, you should figure 1-1/2 to 2 yards of fabric for each cushion. For wider width fabrics you'll be able to use less based upon your sofa and cushion dimensions. Note: Buy more fabric than you think you'll need—any fabric left over can be use to make pillows or table runners.
