Which batting is right for your project?

Batting gives a quilt its loft (thickness). In general, the more loft, the warmer the quilt. Low-loft or thin batting is ideal for hand and machine quilting and for quilted garments. High-loft is primarily used for tied quilts and comforters. Many batts come in white or black. Black is perfect for use with a dark quilt top and backing.
