If your water is over 12 grams of hardness, we recommend using either inexpensive bottled spring water or mixing half tap water with half distilled water. Do not use 100% distilled water as this can cause the iron to spit and leak.

"This has to be the worst iron I have every owned. I purchased it from Nancy's Notions a couple of years ago and I was so excited to get it because of the pop up feature. (I am bad about leaving an Iron resting on the sole plate)This Iron burned out with in 8 months. I sent it back to the company that makes it and they acutally sent me a brand new one. Well guess what day before yesterday it burned out again. I would never tell anyone to buy this Iron. Just a reminder from Nancy's Notions Customer Service: If, for any reason, any product does not meet your expectations, return it for an exchange, refund, or credit of its purchase price. "I sew, so I iron. This one burned out 2 days ago. It spitted and sputtered like a teething baby. I hated it. Wish I had to box and/or receipt. (Did not buy this from Nancy, love her customer service dept, they are great). This was an expensive iron and I feel it was a waste of my hard earned money."

"This is the 2nd Oliso yellow that has died. Too bad as I love the lift feature. It lsted almost 2 years which is a great deal longer than other customers reviews have said (average is 6 to 12 months) I wish Oliso would fix the so obvious design error - it leaks and shortly after that the lift button shorts out and the iron fails to heat - You can have heat or you can have lift but NOT both. I dusted off one of my old cheapy iron so I at least can continue sewing. ( did not buy it from Nancy)"
